In a parallel universe, one not too different than this, I would have been a comedian.

A rich one.

I’d tell jokes late into the night and then stand outside the theater and smoke Marlboro Reds in a leather jacket. Not one of those with torn sleeves you find at Goodwill for $5 and wear ironically, but a garment made of real leather, by a fancy Italian brand I’d struggle to pronounce the name of.

Unfortunately, in this universe, none of this is true. I have asthma and struggle to stay awake past 10 PM (which really throws a wrench in the whole comedian thing). Instead, my jokes come in the form of written stories, preferably between 9 AM and 1 PM, which by then, I’m about ready for a nap.
